About The Church

ABOUT THE CHURCH

The Pentecost Church of Jesus Christ is an organized incorporated body of Holy Ghost filled, baptized believers. It was officially organized on June 23, 1940 and incorporated in the State of Arizona on September 1, 1943 under the leadership of the late Bishop Ezra Freeman Loring. Through much suffering, sacrifice, toil, pain, agony, hunger, and dishonor, the Lord gave us victory. In the beginning, we had no shelter; thus we held services under a tree and Jesus really met us there. As a result, we were and are yet satisfied and continue to count the blessings that the Lord has given us one by one.

From 1945 to 2016, the headquarters has been under the leadership of great men of God such as Bishop Ezra Loring, Bishop Thomas Davis, Bishop Arthur Loring, and presently Jr. Bishop Keith Loring, Sr. With the assistance of our leaders and fellow ministers, the church expanded to various cities in AZ and other parts of the country (OK, TX, CA, and FL). Currently, there are four active locations in AZ (Phoenix, Mesa, Chandler, and Coolidge). There are also two active locations in OK (Okmulgee and Spencer) and one location in CA (Stockton).

The Lord has truly blessed the church and has put his approval upon it; thus souls are being gathered into it. Many precious gifts and talents have the Lord sent to help enlarge his habitation within. Whether there be Jew, Greek, bond or free, male or female, we accept all and fellowship with all who walk in the way of grace and truth without respect of persons.

•To strive for the advancement and progress of the church's knowledge, holiness and purity.

•To promote its prosperity and spirituality.

•To support the poor, widows, orphans, and sick.

•To spread the gospel of Jesus Christ and religiously educate our children and walk circumspectly in the world.

WHAT WE BELIEVE AND PREACH

•The Pentecost Church of Jesus Christ is built upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Jesus Christ himself being the chief corner stone; In whom all the building fitly framed together groweth unto an holy temple in the (only one) Lord: In whom
ye also are builded together for an habitation of God through the Spirit (Ephesians 2:19-22).

•We believe in water baptism in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins as instructed in Acts 2:38 (". . .Repent, and be baptized everyone of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost”).

•We believe in the baptism of the Holy Ghost which is evidenced through speaking of tongues as the spirit gives utterance.

•We believe, teach, preach, and stand for holiness and sanctification. The word of God instructs us to be Holy: “And ye shall be holy unto me: for I the Lord am holy, and have severed you from other people, that ye should be mine” (Leviticus 20:26, I Peter 1:15-16).
Hebrews 12:14 tells us to “follow peace with all men, and holiness, without which no man shall see God.”

•We believe and teach ONE God. There is only one God, the creator of heaven and the earth and of all mankind, manifest to mankind as father (creator), son (savior), and Holy Ghost (dwelling spirit). His name is Jesus Christ. He is the alpha and omega, the
beginning and the ending.

•We believe that God is a Sprit and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth. (John 4:24). Hence we do not engage in carnal practices such as feet washing and communion.
